Foreclosure Intervention Workshops Now Available

Housing America Corporation, Somerton, Arizona, March 2, 2009 – Housing America Corporation will be conducting foreclosure prevention workshops on a monthly basis in both English and Spanish. For more information contact Housing America Corporation for time and date on an upcoming workshop.

Foreclosure Intervention Workshops are available through the Homeownership Education and counseling program/Post Purchase Counseling; Housing America is HUD approved counseling agency. Post Purchase Counseling assists individuals and families who are behind on their mortgage payment. The post purchase or foreclosure intervention process is as follows: individuals or families seeking assistance must contact Housing America to attend a foreclosure prevention workshop. An information package along with an application can either be mailed or picked up at 130 N State Avenue in Somerton, AZ. The application will then be collected along with other documents during the workshop. Following the workshop, the counselor with set a one-on-one interview to review each case individually. The goals of the workshop are to provide an overview of the program, foreclosure prevention alternatives and to collect necessary documents to start the foreclosure prevention process. During the interview the counselor will help the individual or family create a workout plan through a budget, find alternatives to foreclosure, collect any additional documents and contact the lender.

The program does not have income restrictions. Individuals and families seeking assistance must call Housing America to sign up for the foreclosure intervention workshop. Housing America encourages individuals and families who have defaulted in their mortgage payments to be proactive and call their lender or contact a HUD approved counseling agency.
